In Krasnoyarsk, the tunneling of the right inter-station tunnel between the future stations "Vysotnaya" and "Ulitsa Kopylova" has been completed. Construction of this section began in the 1990s, then was mothballed due to financial difficulties. The decision not to abandon what had been started was made during the preparation of the metro-tram project in January 2024.
Work was carried out by mining methods at depths ranging from 11 to 45 meters in complex geological conditions. Specialists extended the tunnel by 198 meters, extracting over 5 thousand cubic meters of rock. 198 rings, consisting of 2376 segments of cast-iron tubings with a total weight of over 1370 tons, were installed. The left tunnel, 2.6 km long, was completed in June.
Currently, cut-through rings with a diameter of 7.5 meters are being installed in both tunnels, which will connect the inter-station section with the station structures. After this, the construction of the "Ulitsa Kopylova" complex and the right station tunnel, 110 meters long, will begin.
In a year and a half, more has been done at the site than in the previous 30 years, and the overall readiness of the metro is estimated at 33%.
