Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant (KMZ) will replace the bushings on the 67I-6 engine of size 23/2X30 manufactured by "Russkiy Diesel". The work will be carried out under a state contract.
This involves restoring the key parts of the engine's cylinder group, on whose condition its further operation depends.
Diesels of size 23/2X30 belong to large two-stroke machines that are used as main marine engines for operation with fixed or controllable pitch propellers. KMZ also produces spare parts for engines of this series, including units of brands 67I and other versions.
The 67I-6 is built according to a scheme with opposed pistons. The engine has two rows of vertical cylinders and four crankshafts connected by an integrated main gear. For the working process, uniflow-scavenging, gas turbine supercharging, and intermediate cooling of the supercharging air are used, so cylinder restoration requires precise installation and adherence to the dimensions of mating parts.
Bushing replacement is necessary to restore the working surface of the cylinders and the normal operation of the cylinder-piston group. After installation, it is necessary to ensure the specified clearances and mating accuracy: the tightness of the working process, wear of parts, and the further resource of the engine depend on this.
