JSC "V.A. Degtyarev Plant" patented a machine gun design in which several components can be reconfigured for different firing conditions. The most unusual solution is related to the bipod: it can be moved along the gas tube, changing the support position without disassembling the weapon.
It is the relocation of the bipod that should solve the paradox of the classic PKM layout: the support increases the weapon's stability but at the same time limits the ability to quickly change the direction of fire. In the patented design, the forward bipod position is aimed at improving accuracy, while shifting it backward allows for a wider firing sector without the shooter having to move their body. The bipod is fixed to the gas tube with a dry joint.
The machine gun also received a folding telescopic stock with length adjustment and a retractable cheek rest. It can be folded to the side, and the length can be changed without the traditional sequence with separate latches.
Threaded sockets for the front grip are provided on both sides of the receiver, so the weapon can be adapted for firing from the hands, from the knee, and on the move, and the grip can be installed on the desired side.
Another solution changes the usual work with an optical sight. The rail has been moved directly to the receiver cover and rigidly fixed to it: when the cover is opened for loading, the sight moves with it, so it does not need to be moved aside beforehand. According to the developers, this reduces reloading time and allows the sight's position to be maintained after the cover is closed again.
For stealth firing, the design provides for the installation of a suppressor directly on the non-detachable muzzle device. The external thread allows the device to be screwed on without disassembling the standard muzzle device, and part of the gas pressure load is taken by the muzzle device itself.
