Jet drone "Geran-5" shown in detail for the first time in photos

The drone turned out to be cylindrical with almost straight wings

The first image of the newest Russian jet attack drone "Geran-5" has appeared online. The footage was shown by the Telegram channel "Voennaya Khronika".

The photo shows that the "Geran-5" is made in a classic aircraft design with almost straight wings. It fundamentally differs from the "flying wing" or tailless "delta" type designs used in the "Geran-2" drone family.

The fuselage shape is cylindrical or cigar-shaped. There is some rounding in the nose, probably for better aerodynamics.

In the tail section, horizontal stabilizers can be seen, forming a cruciform or T-shaped geometry with the end of the fuselage. So, comparisons of "Geran-5" with a cruise missile turned out to be justified.

According to open sources, "Geran-5" is capable of hitting targets at a range of up to 600 km. Military expert Yuri Knutov noted that the drone flies according to a digital terrain map, and machine vision helps to compare the information received during the flight.
