Frigate "Admiral Kasatonov" with "Zircons" approached German shores after statements about tanker protection

The Telegraph: Project 22350 ship turned off transponder near Fehmarn Island

The Russian frigate "Admiral Kasatonov" of Project 22350, armed with "Zircon" hypersonic missiles, was spotted off the coast of the German island of Fehmarn in the Baltic Sea. This was reported by The Telegraph.

According to the publication, the frigate was sailing with its transponder turned off, so its exact location remained unknown.

Journalists clarified that this is the second time a Russian warship has appeared in the Baltic Sea in recent weeks. In late July, the destroyer "Admiral Levchenko" of Project 1155 was recorded there.

On August 12, President Vladimir Putin stated that Russia would respond in kind to attempts to seize its ships, and not necessarily in the same waters.

The armament of Project 22350 frigates includes anti-ship missiles "Onyx" or "Kalibr", the "Polyment-Redut" anti-aircraft missile system, the "Paket-NK" anti-submarine torpedo system, and an artillery mount.
