Having mastered the production of T-90S heavy tanks, India now wants to repair them worldwide. The republic's industry is ready to modernize combat vehicles for international operators, promising long-term support and modernization, IDRW reported.
Journalists claim that the basic version of the T-90 tank is in service, in addition to Russia, in more than 10 countries — Algeria, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Turkmenistan, Uganda, Vietnam, and others.
But most of these tanks were supplied in their basic configuration. They have not undergone the extensive modernization of sensors, fire control systems, and mobility that Indian tanks have received over the past two decades of their own development.
India believes that for countries operating aging T-90 tanks, its modernization proposal will be more affordable than cooperation with Russia.
Ivan Grachev, a researcher at the Central Economics and Mathematics Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, noted that Russia earned 6 billion dollars from T-90S deliveries to India throughout their cooperation. In May, the republic built the 1000th tank of this series.
