25 Tools Non-Stop: TMH-Electrotech Plant Accelerated Production of Traction Electric Motors for Locomotives

Modern CNC machining centers eliminated manual retooling and accelerated production

Automated processing of parts and components for traction electric motors has been introduced at TMH-Electrotech's production facility. The enterprise implemented modern CNC machining centers that automatically change tools without stopping the technological process.

The new equipment is equipped with tool magazines and an automatic tool change system. This allowed for the elimination of manual retooling between operations, reduced processing time, and ensured stable manufacturing precision for parts.

One example is the processing of the DTK-417K traction electric motor frame. During the drilling of this part, an average of 25 different tools are used. Thanks to automatic tool change, the equipment performs the entire cycle without operator intervention, which increases productivity and reduces the likelihood of errors.

DTK-417K traction electric motors are used as drives for the wheelsets of mainline and shunting locomotives 2(3)TE25KM and TEM18DM, which are produced by the Bryansk Machine-Building Plant.
