"Digital ID" in the "Max" messenger is now available to teenagers from 14 years old

It will allow schoolchildren and students to receive benefits

Users of the Russian messenger "Max" who have reached the age of 14 can now create a "Digital ID" - an electronic analogue of paper documents. Initially, this feature is available to students and citizens with disabilities.

The "Digital ID" is designed to confirm age and social status. Teenagers will be able to present it to receive benefits in cultural institutions and public transport. After registration, the user's digital card will display information about the educational institution, class, or course.

To purchase age-restricted goods (18+) or check into hotels, the appropriate age must be reached.

The registration procedure requires a confirmed account on the "Gosuslugi" portal. The user needs to go to a special section of the messenger, generate a QR code, consent to the processing of personal data, and set a personal PIN code for secure access.

How "Digital ID" is developing in the "Max" messenger

In September 2025, the "Max" messenger launched the pilot project "Digital ID" - an electronic analogue of paper documents with a dynamic QR code that updates every 30 seconds. Initially, the function allowed confirming age, student status, pensioner status, or multi-child parent status and was intended for adult users.

Since then, the service has actively expanded: by early 2026, Max ID supported more than 70 thousand stores of 18 major retail chains, and the number of age confirmations when purchasing 18+ category goods exceeded 1 million.

In February 2026, the tool's capabilities extended to the cultural sphere - students, pensioners, large families, and people with disabilities gained the right to present a "Digital ID" for free or discounted visits to museums, theaters, and concerts.
