Africa also showed interest in the energy-intensive BELARUS 5425

Minsk Tractor Works (OAO "MTZ") supplied over 500 tractors to Nigeria by the end of July 2026. This was announced by Oksana Moroz, Head of MTZ's Product Promotion and Sales Department for Far Abroad Countries.

According to her, the Nigerian market is very promising for the Belarusian enterprise.

Our machinery helps to develop the agriculture of this country. The current supply included four tractor models with capacities ranging from 80 to 120 hp.

MTZ expects to enter new markets in Africa for the supply of energy-intensive tractors (with an operational power of 150 hp and above). Some countries on the continent have already shown interest in the 500-hp BELARUS 5425.

MTZ's energy-intensive tractors are represented by two series:

  • Series 2000 with over 200 hp (e.g., BELARUS 2022.3, 2022.)
  • Series 3000 with over 300 hp (BELARUS 3022DC.1 and 3522)

Such tractors are used for energy-intensive agricultural work and for transporting goods. Fifth traction class machinery can be equipped with wide-span implements (plow, cultivator, seeder, mower) and cultivate soil in traction and traction-drive modes.
