The MiG-35 program may continue its development even amid funding cuts for other projects of the A.I. Mikoyan Design Bureau. This was stated to "Pervy Tekhnichesky" by Nikolai Chikunov, a first-category design engineer.
According to the specialist, the documents he saw indicate a reduction in funding for a number of MiG programs. However, the MiG-35, in his assessment, found itself in a special position.
Funding has been cut for all MiG projects, except for the MiG-35, which is simply at a stage where nothing can be cut anymore.
Chikunov did not specify the exact funding amounts or disclose classified program characteristics. However, the MiG-35 continues testing and is already being used to perform tasks to combat drones.
