The first production MC-21 aircraft has completed ground factory tests and is preparing for its first flight. Simultaneously, the assembly of several more aircraft continues at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant. This was reported by aviation blogger and author of the Skyexpert channel.
The aviation expert reported that the MC-21 with index MC.0014, which received tail number 73362, has become the leader of a new batch of aircraft intended for delivery to customers this year. Aircraft number 73363 is currently being prepared for electrical checks, while aircraft numbers 73364 and 73365 are in the final stages of final assembly.
In addition to these four aircraft, several more aircraft from previously created stock are in production. Some fuselages are undergoing sub-assembly, and in workshop No. 246 of the Irkutsk Aviation Plant, work is simultaneously underway on six aircraft at the stages of docking and structural formation. Several more aircraft are in customization hangars, the flight test unit, and undergoing aggregate assembly.
Earlier it was reported that the Nizhny Novgorod Aircraft Building Plant "Sokol" joined the program for creating a new aircraft. Previously, the plant was known for producing military aircraft and Il-114-300 aircraft. Now the enterprise is participating in the civilian MC-21 project.
