The production of Russian FPV quadcopters "Bekas" in Tambov has been discontinued, while the drone manufacturing technology has already been transferred to the Indian side. The assembly of the devices was previously mastered by the Tambov Bakery, which launched the production of unusual drones as part of the development of a civilian initiative to create affordable drones.
According to the project author, the enterprise no longer produces "Bekas" drones. At the same time, Indian specialists previously visited the production facility in Tambov, underwent training, and received the necessary knowledge for independent assembly of the devices.
The Russian drone attracted the attention of foreign customers due to its simple design and the possibility of rapid production. The Indian side conducted its own assessment of several drone models and ultimately chose the Russian development for local assembly.
The "Bekas" drone, nicknamed "drone-loaf", began to be produced not at a large defense enterprise, but at a bakery. The project became one of the examples of how small production sites can master the production of unmanned aerial vehicles.
The reasons for the cessation of production in Tambov are not officially disclosed. At the same time, the transfer of technology abroad shows that Russian development continues to interest foreign partners and is developing outside the country.
