The "High-Precision Complexes" holding of the Rostec State Corporation shipped a new batch of upgraded BMP-3s to the Russian Ministry of Defence. The volume of deliveries exceeded the monthly figures of previous months this year.
Each vehicle in the new batch received a number of improvements. These include a more modern electronic warfare system, enhanced bottom protection against mines, as well as increased anti-fragmentation armor resistance for the stern and front parts, Rostec reported.
The modern standard configuration of the BMP-3 differs significantly from the vehicles supplied before 2022. Over the past four years, dozens of changes have been made to the design: additional protection kits (side screens, grilles, upper hemisphere protection, and signature reduction measures), as well as special devices and equipment that increase mobility and the effectiveness of weapon use. The equipment continues to be continuously refined based on combat experience in real conditions.
Earlier it was reported that the BMP-3 was reinforced with armor plates on the troop hatches, the upper frontal part, and the stern, and the driver's compartment was equipped with a full-fledged video camera and a rear-view camera for the driver.
