The newest Russian frigate "Admiral Golovko" is equipped with a modern missile system featuring cruise and hypersonic missiles. This was stated by the commander of the ship's missile and artillery combat unit, highlighting the capabilities of the frigate's strike armament.
According to the officer, the ship's size and design allow for a wide range of modern weapon systems to be placed on board.
Actions of the strike missile system were practiced, which is armed with both the already known "Kalibrs" and our most modern weapon – hypersonic missiles.
The frigate "Admiral Golovko" belongs to Project 22350 and is one of the newest multi-purpose ships of the Russian fleet. The ship is designed to perform a wide range of tasks: striking sea and land targets, air defense of formations, and escorting naval groups.
The frigate's displacement is about 5400 tons, and its length is approximately 135 meters. The ship received universal vertical launch systems, allowing for the use of various types of missile armament.
The main feature of the "Admiral Golovko" was its equipping with a domestic ship power plant and the ability to use "Tsirkon" hypersonic missiles. These missiles are designed to destroy large surface targets and are characterized by high flight speed.
Project 22350 frigates are considered the basis for the renewal of the Russian surface fleet. Thanks to the combination of long-range missile weapons, modern control systems, and air defense assets, these ships are capable of performing tasks in the far sea zone.
