The Russian Navy has not yet received any of the three new Project 23130 medium sea tankers, although their delivery was planned to be completed a maximum of a year ago. This was reported by the Center for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies (AST).

Under the terms of the contract, the tankers were supposed to enter service with the fleet between 2023 and 2025. However, today, neither "Vasily Nikitin," "Engineer-Admiral Kotov," nor "Alexey Shein" have been handed over to the Navy.

In April, court documents partially explained the reasons for the delays. One of the equipment suppliers, Troitsky Crane Plant, disrupted the supply of key systems for the tankers by more than three years.

Nevsky Shipyard and Ship Repair Plant collectively demanded over 441 million rubles in compensation from the company and has already won several lawsuits.

A few days ago, the tanker "Alexey Shein" was launched. This is the third and final vessel in the series, built under a contract from December 2020.
