Rosel Holding (part of Rostec) presented the latest Neptun-120 satellite station for ships. It is designed to provide stable communication even in the harshest Arctic conditions.

The system is designed for operation on vessels sailing along the Northern Sea Route. The main feature of the complex is a three-axis stabilization system, which allows the antenna to maintain precise aiming at geostationary satellites located more than 35 thousand kilometers from Earth. Thanks to this, communication remains stable even with strong rolling and pitching.

The Neptun-120 is designed for operation at temperatures from -40 to +50 degrees Celsius. The structure is protected by a radome that reduces the impact of snow and ice on the equipment. In addition, the station successfully passed climatic tests according to military standards.

According to Rostec, the equipment can withstand winds of up to 50 m/s, which corresponds to a destructive hurricane.

The state corporation also noted that the importance of reliable satellite communication for Arctic shipping will only grow. This is due to the increase in cargo traffic along the Northern Sea Route and the growing number of vessels operating in high latitudes. According to government plans, cargo traffic on this route should increase from 100 million tons by 2030 to 238 million tons by 2035, so stable communication becomes one of the key elements of safe navigation.
