The Irkutsk Aviation Plant has dramatically reduced the preparation time for assembling the MC-21 passenger airliner. While previously the path from order launch to receiving a task for workers took up to 357 hours, this process now takes only 19 to 35 hours.
In fact, the speed of production preparation has increased by almost 18 times.
The changes affected the aggregate assembly shop, where the main elements are assembled. The enterprise revised its work with the ERP-LN system, accelerated the procedures for completing parts and materials, and also changed the supply scheme for workplaces.
The number of employees involved in the task preparation process decreased from 24 to 9 people, and the number of internal approvals and interactions decreased from 58 to 16.
A day earlier, IAZ completed the ground testing phase of the first production MC-21 with new carbon brakes. However, the airliner will still not receive its type certificate by the end of 2026.
