The first production MC-21 is on its own carbon brakes

"Yakovlev" also tested the nose landing gear steering control

The first production Russian MC-21 airliner has entered one of the final stages of preparation before its maiden flight. The Irkutsk Aviation Plant has successfully completed a series of ground tests of the aircraft.

The aircraft for the first time tested its own braking system and nose landing gear steering control.

The next stage will be taxiing tests and high-speed runs on the runway. After these, the first production MC-21 is expected to make its maiden flight.

Carbon brakes for the MC-21 are produced by the Balashikha-based company "Rubin". Recently, the enterprise planned technical re-equipment and the construction of a new mechanical workshop.

Meanwhile, the price of one MC-21 airliner has increased from 3.3 billion rubles to 5.34 billion rubles in just three years.
