In the Novosibirsk region, plans are underway to establish the production of interior elements for civil aircraft – from baggage racks and partitions to cabin lining. The new production facility will be deployed at the Berdsky Electromechanical Plant (BEMZ).
According to Dmitry Kudelkin, CEO of the S7 Group, the enterprise intends to gradually expand its competencies in civil aircraft manufacturing.
For BEMZ, the key area now is aviation repairs, spare parts, and in the future, it is planned to engage in the production of interior elements for aircraft and the repair of individual units.
Approximately 2 billion rubles have already been invested in the development of the enterprise. Another 2 billion rubles will be allocated in 2026–2027 for re-equipping production and organizing new technological lines.
S7 signed a memorandum for the supply of 100 Kazan-made Tu-214 airliners. Deliveries were planned to begin in 2029, although Tupolev is currently building one aircraft per year.
