The Aviation Technical Center (ATC) of Ural Airlines is embarking on a large-scale project to extend the operational life of Airbus A320 family aircraft beyond 96,000 flight hours. This comprehensive program is unprecedented in Russia and represents a significant step towards the technical independence of domestic civil aviation.
The project continues the development of the ATC's own engineering and technical competencies. Since 2023, a modern facility for the maintenance and repair of Airbus A320 landing gear struts has been successfully operating. During this time, more than ten sets of landing gear and hundreds of hydraulic units have been repaired and returned to service — both for its own fleet and for other Russian carriers. By the end of this year, the facility's capacity will be expanded to work with Boeing 737 landing gear struts.
In parallel, new workshops are being designed for in-depth repair of fuel, hydraulic, and pneumatic system units — this creates a base for a fully closed technical cycle.
The practical phase starts this fall: specialists will perform a full cycle — from deep disassembly and diagnostics of the airframe to repair and final assembly. The experience gained will be an important impetus for the development of the entire Russian aviation industry.
