Lefortovsky District Court of Moscow dismissed the lawsuit of Deputy Prosecutor General Igor Tkachev against former State Duma deputy Oleg Savchenko and his son Georgy, Kommersant writes. The court also lifted the arrest of shares and stakes in the enterprises of the "European Bearing Corporation" (EPK) group. The decision came into force immediately.

In June, the Prosecutor General's Office demanded that EPK securities and stakes in a number of commercial structures be transferred to the state. According to the supervisory agency, they were purchased with income from the activities of the bearing holding. The defendants in the case were Oleg Savchenko, his son Georgy, as well as Igor Rudetsky and Igor Kostychev, whom the supervisory body considered to be proxies of the main defendant.
Savchenko himself said that the previously introduced interim measures seriously hindered the work of enterprises and created a risk of disrupting the state defense order.
According to sources, the court found the claims of the Prosecutor General's Office unfounded and indicated that the requirements of anti-corruption legislation were not observed when filing the lawsuit. The founder of EPK, commenting on the outcome of the case, said that this test turned out to be more difficult than climbing the seven highest peaks in the world, including Everest.
