AvtoVAZ denied rumors of an upcoming price increase for Lada cars from August 1, doing so in an uncharacteristic ironic manner. In an official statement, the company's press service urged not to trust the "nightmare dreams of certain Tolyatti bloggers-insiders" and their communication with "unclear representatives of the alleged dealer community."

The plant emphasized that no changes in pricing policy will occur from August 1. The last indexation was carried out in January of this year, and currently, the company is selling cars from previous years of production with large discounts. The reason for the refutation was a wave of panic messages in Telegram channels, which caused a stir among buyers.

Behind this spat is a long-standing confrontation between the plant and local publics that publish internal rumors and conveyor schedules. Their technical forecasts sometimes come true, but when it comes to pricing, such leaks play into the hands of unscrupulous dealers: by scaring customers with impending price increases, they accelerate sales and meet their monthly plan. For the buyer, the plant's firm response is a signal not to fall for marketing tricks and to rely only on official price lists.
