United Engine Corporation (ODK) has developed an energy solution for data centers that allows them to generate their own electricity and heat without relying on external networks. The system is based on the GTD-6/RM gas turbine unit with a capacity of 6 MW, created on the basis of the proven D-30KU/KP aircraft engine.
The development is aimed at modern data centers, where power supply stability becomes one of the key operational factors. This is especially relevant for facilities located far from large power grids or requiring increased autonomy.
The gas turbine unit can operate on natural gas, associated petroleum gas, and diesel fuel. The electrical power of the complex is 6 MW, and the resource before scheduled maintenance reaches 30 thousand hours. The assigned resource of the unit is stated to be 120 thousand hours.
The exhaust gas temperature of about 460 °C allows for additional heat to be used for heating, steam production, or other technological processes. When operating with heat recovery, the overall efficiency of the unit can exceed 50%.
ODK notes that the GTD-6/RM has already proven its reliability in operation: 120 such units have been produced, and the total operating time has exceeded 5 million hours. Based on this technology, the company is forming a line of solutions for digital infrastructure with a power range from 6 to 32 MW.
