The first Tu-214 aircraft in a new configuration have already begun to be delivered to government customers. This was announced by Vadim Badeha, General Director of the United Aircraft Corporation.
According to him, the Kazan Aircraft Plant is currently producing updated Tu-214s primarily in special versions for government agencies.
We have a large volume contracted for various special versions of this aircraft, mainly for government customers. And these aircraft, starting this year, are already being produced and delivered to customers in a new configuration.
Also, Red Wings airline will receive a batch of 11 new airliners in 2027, although the maximum assembly rate at the Kazan Aircraft Plant is 4 units per year.
The transition to Russian components became possible after changes were made to the aircraft's standard design. At the end of last year, Rosaviatsiya approved a modernized version of the Tu-214 with an updated composition of onboard equipment, which paved the way for the serial production of fully localized aircraft.
