OAK reveals the fate of foreign systems on SSJ-100: no plans to change avionics

The corporation sees no reason to replace foreign equipment and will focus on upgrading the power plant

Replacing foreign avionics on operational SSJ-100 aircraft will not be required, and the main problem with these airliners has already been virtually eliminated thanks to the resolution of the power plant issue. This was stated by Vadim Badeha, CEO of PAO OAK, at the "Innoprom – 2026" exhibition.

According to the head of the corporation, foreign onboard systems continue to operate normally, undergo maintenance and repair. A similar situation, he noted, persists with foreign avionics on foreign aircraft that continue to fly in Russia.

Regarding foreign components in the Superjet's avionics of the non-import-substituted version, there is no such problem at the moment. It works, is serviced, and repaired. Just as foreign avionics on foreign aircraft flying in the Russian Federation today work, are serviced, and operated – there are no problems there, this is a long-resolved issue.

He emphasized that the main limitation for the continued operation of previous versions of the SSJ-100 remained the engines. According to him, this task has already been resolved, so there is no risk of aircraft operation ceasing in the coming decades.

An additional step will be the re-engining of part of the existing fleet. Earlier, the Ministry of Industry and Trade announced the allocation of funding for research and development work, which is planned for 2026–2027 and should ensure the transition of aircraft to new Russian engines.
