A new service has been launched in Russia that collects all basic information about migrants in one place — from documents to employment and transport. This refers to the digital service "Digital Profile of a Foreign Citizen". The details were disclosed by the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Irina Volk.
The launch of the system was an important step in the digitalization of migration processes, noted the representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The "Digital Profile of a Foreign Citizen" allows for a more complete, reliable, and up-to-date picture of the migration situation in the country and increases the effectiveness of management in this area.
The system will collect a full set of information about foreign citizens and stateless persons, including documents, information on migration registration, employment, education, medical insurance, real estate, transport, administrative offenses, and restrictions on entry into the Russian Federation.
The rules for forming and maintaining the resource define the procedure for interaction between the operator and data providers — federal authorities and state extra-budgetary funds. The terms and regularity of information updates are also established.
State bodies and other organizations will be able to access the service. Foreign citizens themselves will be able to access their data through the "Gosuslugi" portal.
