Pilots who switched from Airbus and Boeing to the Il-114-300 share only positive emotions. This was stated by Sergey Sukhar, a test pilot at Il JSC.
According to him, Russian companies used to be wary of domestic aircraft and did not want to include them in their fleet, but this opinion has now changed.
They will fly, they are already flying. And the guys came from Airbus, from Boeing, they are delighted with this aircraft. And everyone is happy that Russia has such an aircraft.
It is expected that passenger transportation on the Il-114-300 may begin only in January 2027.
The Il-114-300 has already received a type certificate and can be mass-produced. However, some airlines have raised questions about its efficiency on unpaved runways due to the too low position of the TV7-117ST-01 turboprop engines.
