The Ministry of Justice intends to integrate artificial intelligence into the federal state information system "Legal Aid". As Konstantin Chuichenko, head of the department, told TASS on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum, this is the next stage in the development of the platform, which has been operating through "Gosuslugi" since September 2025.
The system already unites all Russian regions. According to the minister, by June 2026, legal support had been provided more than 110,000 times through it. Currently, the service allows employees of state legal bureaus and lawyers to quickly consult citizens, and the implementation of AI tools should automate some routine operations and reduce response waiting times.
In fact, the Ministry of Justice is creating Russia's first state legal AI assistant. Unlike commercial chatbots, it will rely on an up-to-date regulatory framework and operate within the free legal aid system, which reduces the risk of hallucinations and incorrect interpretations of the law.
