Krasnoyarsk Metrotram Prepares to Receive Heavy-Duty Escalator for 1.06 Billion Rubles

The 35-meter high equipment will be able to transport over 7200 passengers per hour

Krasnoyarsk is finalizing the purchase of an escalator complex worth over 1 billion rubles for the first metrotram line. The equipment is being acquired by the general contractor, Mosproekt-3. It is intended for the only deep-level station, "Ulitsa Kopylova".

This station will be the deepest on the first section of the new line. Of the six stops, only this one will be located at a depth of approximately 40 meters, so a full-fledged escalator ascent will be provided for passengers.

The project includes three heavy-duty escalators. Each will have a rise height of 35 meters, an incline angle of 30 degrees, and a belt width of one meter. The equipment is designed for a capacity of at least 7200 passengers per hour, operating up to 20 hours a day, seven days a week. The belt speed will reach 0.75 m/s.

The technical specifications include anti-vandal balustrade finishing with stainless steel panels, the possibility of installing integrated lighting, a resource of at least 180 thousand kilometers before major overhaul, and an estimated service life of at least 50 years.

The initial contract value is 1.06 billion rubles. Earlier, the general contractor reported that the supplier is planned to be selected from Russian manufacturers. The application period has already closed, and the tender commission is currently evaluating the participants' documents, after which an auction will be held.

The equipment delivery must be completed no later than the second quarter of 2027. The escalator will be delivered to Krasnoyarsk by rail or road.
