Moscow has completed the program to replace rolling stock on tram routes. This was announced by the mayor of the Russian capital, Sergey Sobyanin.
According to him, since 2017, 464 three-section "Vityaz-Moscow" and 140 single-section "Lvyonok-Moscow" cars have been put into operation.
Today, more than 600 new-generation trams run on Moscow streets.
Key features of the new cars include a low floor for people with limited mobility, spacious platforms, climate control, USB chargers for gadgets, and media screens with city news. The capacity of the "Lvyonok-Moscow" model is 110 people, and "Vityaz-Moscow" is up to 170 people.
Sobyanin added that four unmanned trams are being tested in Moscow, and by 2030, approximately two-thirds of the fleet will be unmanned.
