After import substitution, the flight range of the MS-21-310 decreased, which may undermine its economic prospects for airlines. This indicator is a fundamentally important parameter for carriers, said former Airbus pilot Andrey Litvinov.
The pilot noted that the aircraft's 6-ton overweight affected both the reduction in passenger seats and the overall flight range - down to just 3830 km.
The difference is fundamental. In total, the aircraft should have enough kerosene for another hour and a half of flight after arriving at its destination. And if its range is cut - naturally, considering all these nuances, what Vladivostok is there?
Litvinov did not rule out that when airlines start operating the MS-21-310, it will turn out to be economically unprofitable. Then the budget will have to subsidize the aircraft so that airlines use them.
Aviation expert Roman Gusarov explained to "Pervy Tekhnichesky" that the initial range of the MS-21 of 3800 km is only a starting point for the aircraft's development, and not the limit of its capabilities.
