Rostec has developed new special ammunition for drones against uncrewed marine vessels. The shells will be demonstrated for the first time at the International Maritime Defense Show "Fleet-2026".
The state corporation noted that the ammunition can simultaneously affect the target with a cumulative jet, explosion, and shrapnel.
The warhead allows for a high probability of sinking maneuverable surface targets, such as explosive-laden uncrewed vessels.
The new combat loads will be shown together with Supercam-SX350 and X4 series unmanned aerial vehicles.
Currently, Su-30SM fighters of naval aviation are also working on uncrewed vessels. However, pilots are forced to engage targets at direct visual contact range, as noted by analysts of the "Voennaya Khronika" Telegram channel.
In such a scenario, crews may find themselves within the range of R-73RMD-2 or AIM-9M anti-aircraft missiles, which may be equipped on USVs.
