The fleet will be updated: serial production of 2ES11 "Orlets" AC electric locomotives will begin in 2027

The first locomotive will be delivered to Russian Railways this year

Certification of the new 2ES11 "Orlets" AC electric locomotive is scheduled for 2026. Also, this year, the first non-autonomous locomotive will be delivered to Russian Railways (OAO "RZD"). This is stated in the issuer's report (disclosure of information on the activities of the securities issuer) of "Sinara – Transport Machines" for 2025.

Serial production of the 2ES11 "Orlets" electric locomotive at the "Uralskiye lokomotivy" plant will be established in 2027. It is designed to increase the capacity of the Baikal-Amur Mainline and the Trans-Siberian Railway. This section requires powerful and reliable locomotives capable of operating in harsh climates.

  • Asynchronous traction drive
  • Design speed — 120 km/h
  • Load capacity (two-section version 2ES11) — up to 7100 t
  • Load capacity (three-section version 3ES11) — up to 9000 t
  • Tractive effort at start — 734 kN
  • Power on traction motor shafts (continuous mode) — 8000 kW

The "Orlets" was first presented to the public in 2025 at the "PRO//Dvizhenie. Expo" exhibition in St. Petersburg. Then the electric locomotive was sent for testing. To organize serial production, the "Uralskiye lokomotivy" plant received a loan on preferential terms from the Industrial Development Fund (FRP).
