Airlines will receive the Il-114-300 turboprop liner, intended for regional transportation, at best by the end of 2026. This was stated by aviation expert Andrey Velichko.
He explained that only three aircraft units have been built so far at the Voronin Aviation Plant in Lukhovitsy. However, the Second Arkhangelsk Air Detachment will receive only one of them.
Why is it June now, and they will be delivered, supposedly, only by the end of this year? Because the aircraft needs to be prepared, because personnel need to be trained, technicians need to be trained, and so on.
Velichko added that passenger transportation on the Il-114-300 can only begin in January 2027.
The Il-114-300 has already received a type certificate and can be mass-produced. However, some airlines have raised questions about its efficiency on unpaved surfaces due to the excessively low placement of the TV7-117ST-01 turboprop engines.
