The head of VTB, Andrey Kostin, stated at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum that banks are ready to finance enterprises' purchases of equipment for protection against drones, but this will require regulatory concessions from the Central Bank.
According to Kostin, several ministries have already raised this issue. He reminded that, according to his information, the President's decision was made to allow the sale of more serious equipment for object defense to commercial structures. The head of VTB expressed readiness to discuss possible regulatory concessions for banks with the Central Bank to finance such purchases. Kostin called this initiative good and noted that VTB would support companies with the necessary financial resources to ensure security.
Earlier, it became known that the protection of fuel facilities could be financed at the expense of the end consumer – it is proposed to increase prices for gasoline, diesel fuel, and aviation kerosene. Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak instructed to work out such a solution. Thus, oil companies will have another source of funds for the defense of their facilities. The participation of banks in financing the purchase of defense equipment for industry remains questionable without changes in regulation.
