The Russian Arctic Trucks division presented a deeply redesigned off-road version of the Haval H9 frame SUV, prepared for heavy off-road and difficult terrain.
The modification received the AT35 index and differs significantly from the production model. Engineers installed 35-inch off-road tires on 17-inch wheel rims and raised the suspension by two inches. This allowed increasing the ground clearance to 274 mm and significantly changing the geometry of the car.
To accommodate the enlarged wheels, the body was redesigned: wheel arches were widened, fastening elements were reinforced, and connection points to the frame were modernized. Additionally, anti-corrosion coatings were applied, and proprietary fender flares and wheel arch liners were installed.
Due to the change in wheel diameter, the SUV received a separate electronic module that corrects the operation of the speedometer, odometer, and tire pressure monitoring system.
The dimensions of the car also changed: it became wider and taller, the track significantly increased, and the approach and departure angles improved, which positively affected off-road capability. At the same time, the weight increased insignificantly - by approximately 90 kg.
The powertrain remained standard: a two-liter gasoline engine with 218 hp is used, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
