The production of fighter jet engines in Russia has increased 3.5 times compared to 2021. This growth is due to increased combat aircraft flight hours, aviation expert Roman Gusarov told "Pervy Tekhnichesky".
According to him, it is difficult to estimate exact production figures now due to the limited amount of open statistics, but the growth trend is obvious.
In this regard, it is difficult to rely on exact figures; one can only operate with estimates.
Gusarov emphasized that the growth is primarily associated with an increase in the intensity of aviation operations. Most aircraft are equipped with two engines, each of which has a limited service life and requires regular maintenance and replacement.
Under conditions of high flight intensity, engine life is used up much faster than in peacetime.
Under normal conditions, military aviation performs a limited number of sorties – training, patrol, and practice. Under increased load, the operating cycle accelerates sharply, which directly affects the need for new power plants.
