Rostec has officially revealed the characteristics of the newest 30 mm caliber "Citadel" anti-aircraft complex. The air defense system was presented on May 26 at the I International Security Forum in the Moscow region.
According to the developers, the kit of one "Citadel" module consists of 300 rounds. The engagement zone for aircraft-type drones in terms of slant range is up to 1000 m, and for small multi-copters – up to 800 m.
The "Citadel" complex includes a control point, which can be located at a distance of about 1 km from several combat modules. The complex's crew consists of five people.
It is also known that the "Citadel" shells with a remotely controlled fuse have a shrapnel filling. The guidance system independently calculates the optimal detonation point depending on the target's flight trajectory.
