Rostec increased blood plasma processing by 100 tons per year

The "Microgen" plant will increase the production of immunoglobulins and albumin by 40%, reducing dependence on imported medicines

A new line for processing 100 tons of blood plasma annually has been launched at the "Microgen" plant in Perm. The capacity was launched by the state corporation "Rostec" through its holding "Nacimbio". This will allow increasing the production of plasma-based drugs by 40%.

The holding's production sites are now capable of processing up to 357 tons of raw materials per year. This volume is sufficient to cover about 40% of Russia's needs for immunoglobulins and albumin. For certain items, such as normal human immunoglobulin, the figure will reach 50%.

Alexander Nazarov, Deputy General Director of Rostec, noted that the project is strategic and aimed at reducing dependence on foreign immunobiological drugs. He emphasized that these drugs are vital for patients with weakened immune systems, severe blood loss, after operations and transplantation.

Already in 2027, the new line plans to start producing solutions for intravenous and intramuscular injections. The priority is the most demanded items in the healthcare system: immunoglobulins and human albumin.
