The United Kingdom has expanded its anti-Russian sanctions list, adding 85 new entries. Russian organizations and projects related to digital communications, internet development, media, and information technologies have been targeted. The decision was made by the UK government.
The updated list includes the Internet Development Institute, ANO "Dialog", the Center for Youth Environment Study and Network Monitoring, as well as a number of media projects and internet platforms. The restrictions also affected the Euroview portal, registered in London, and the European online publication Govorit.
In addition to organizations, sanctions were extended to leaders and employees of structures associated with information policy, public projects, and youth initiatives. In particular, restrictions were imposed against the head of Rosmolodezh, Grigory Gurov, the head of Yunarmiya, Vladislav Golovin, and the CEO of ANO "Dialog", Vladimir Tabak.
The British Foreign Office stated that the new measures are related to the activities of organizations and individuals whom London considers involved in Russia's information campaigns and projects aimed at influencing public opinion abroad.
After the expansion of the list, the UK sanctions list now includes 1,903 individuals and 857 legal entities.
