Digital "control panel" for accident response in seconds appeared in Moscow

The AI system "PROSobytie" instantly detects accidents and fires, and TsODD specialists dispatch Road Patrol crews

A system has been launched in Moscow that detects accidents almost instantly – AI-powered cameras record an incident in 1–3 seconds and immediately transmit the signal to services. This allows for faster assistance to drivers and clearing the road, reducing the risk of new accidents. Moscow Deputy Mayor Maksim Liksutov revealed the details.

This refers to "smart" AI cameras installed on the Moscow Ring Road (MKAD) and other key highways in the capital. The system is called "PROSobytie". It assists specialists from the Traffic Management Center (TsODD).

The system operates in three stages: first, detection, then processing, and finally, response.

More than 2,000 cameras on the MKAD, Moscow High-Speed Diameter (MSD), and in tunnels use a neural network to recognize 15 types of dangerous situations. These include accidents, fires, pedestrians on the road, and other incidents.

The information then goes to the "PROSobytie" system, where a unified incident card is generated. In it, a situational center specialist sees the location, time, and type of incident and can assess the situation via cameras in real-time.

Next, the employee dispatches the nearest Road Patrol crew and, if necessary, calls the State Traffic Inspectorate (GAI) or road services. The system also displays warnings for drivers on information boards.

Every day, about 7,000 abnormal situations are recorded on the MKAD, MSD, and in Moscow's tunnels.
