The new Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era from the Russian studio Unfrozen burst onto Steam with a strong start: the game recouped its development costs within the first day of its early access release.
Within 24 hours, the project sold over 250,000 copies and immediately rose to first place in the platform's bestseller chart.
Player interest significantly exceeded expectations. On the first day, users left over 3,000 reviews, with more than 90% of them being positive. Simultaneously, over 50,000 people were playing the game.
This is an important moment for the series: Olden Era is the first new installment since 2015, awaited for over a decade. The developers opted for a familiar formula – visually and gameplay-wise, the game is close to the iconic third installment, which fans immediately appreciated.
According to the team, this launch surpassed expectations, and player feedback is already being actively used to refine the project – from balancing to bug fixing.
At launch, the game offers six factions – Rift, Temple, Dungeon, Necropolis, Swarm, and Grove, as well as an online mode and the first act of the story campaign.
At the same time, the project remains relatively accessible in terms of requirements: the minimum configuration specifies a GeForce GTX 1650 level graphics card, and the game occupies about 8 GB on disk.
Currently, Olden Era is available with a 25% discount and is also included in Game Pass, which further expands its audience.
