The fifth-generation Su-57 fighter jet may need its next modernization no earlier than five years from now. The combat vehicle will certainly not lose its relevance until the end of the current century, stated Major General Sergey Lipovoy.
According to him, in five years, the Su-57 will need to replace outdated units and weapon systems.
It will be easy to do. This is a platform that will be constantly modernized, and an aircraft that will serve at least until the next century.
Lipovoy emphasized that in many respects, the Su-57 surpasses fighters in service with the United States and NATO countries. The military called statements that the combat vehicle might become obsolete absurd.
The developers have embedded great potential in it, which will allow it to remain not only the best fighter of our generation and our army for a long time, but also the best in all world military aviation.
Rostec CEO Sergey Chemezov stated that the Su-57 is in no way inferior to the American F-35, while being much cheaper. Captain 1st Rank Vasily Dandykin informed "Pervy Tekhnichesky" that the Su-57 possesses high maneuverability and modern solutions for reducing visibility.
