Lawyer explained the risk of bankruptcy for the Su-57 engine plant

Aleksandr Larionov: 8 million rubles in a lawsuit for ODK-UMPO is a ridiculous sum

The Novosibirsk company "Thermal Technologies" intends to initiate bankruptcy proceedings against the Ufa plant ODK-UMPO in order to avoid enforcement proceedings. However, as assured by the head of the company "AB-Consultant," Aleksandr Larionov, nothing threatens the key enterprise producing engines for tactical aviation.

According to him, the notice of intent to file an insolvency claim was simply a signal to the debtor to make UMPO pay sooner.

No one is going to bankrupt a strategic enterprise: 8 million rubles for UMPO, with assets and turnover in the tens of billions, is a ridiculous sum.

Larionov recalled that in February the company "Alzir" also announced plans to bankrupt ODK-UMPO over a debt of 5 million rubles, but the matter went no further. Moreover, the Ufa plant, though with difficulty, is still settling its bills despite the challenges.

That is why law firms resort to this method of speeding up settlements. We ourselves sometimes use such methods to encourage a counterparty to settle up.

ODK-UMPO is the key manufacturer of engines for Su-57, Su-27, Su-30, and Su-35S fighters. At the end of 2025, the plant's net losses reached 14.3 billion rubles.
