"Northern Shipyard" received lawsuits for 24 billion rubles amid plans to grow 15 times

The amount of claims exceeded the annual income of the frigate plant

The Arbitration Court in St. Petersburg has begun to consider a series of lawsuits against "Northern Shipyard" from companies of the Norebo Group. The total amount of claims reached 24.2 billion rubles, which is more than the company's revenue for 2025.

The first lawsuit was filed by JSC "Murmansk Provincial Fleet" for 3.7 billion rubles. In the near future, the court will consider claims from Akros and Roliz, as well as three more lawsuits for amounts up to 6.1 billion rubles. All of them are related to the disruption of the construction of trawlers of project 170701.

The contracts were concluded in 2017–2019. "Northern Shipyard" was supposed to build ten freezer trawler processors under the investment quota program. However, the deadlines were delayed, and some of the contracts were terminated. According to the customers, they lost access to fishing quotas because of this.

The judicial burden on "Northern Shipyard" sharply contrasts with the ambitious plans of the enterprise to increase production by 15 times by 2030. CEO Roman Obukhov stated that the plant will rethink its philosophy and turn into a high-tech complex of world level in just five years.

The main products of "Northern Shipyard" are modern multi-purpose ships, for example, frigates of project 22350 ("Admiral Gorshkov") and corvettes of projects 20380/20385.
