6 new Mi-8MTV-1 helicopters will be delivered to Russian airlines by the end of 2026. The contract for the supply of the machines was concluded by the Russian Helicopters holding and the State Transport Leasing Company (GTLK).
The machines are designed to operate in harsh climatic conditions, including arctic temperatures and hot summers. The design includes the installation of additional fuel tanks, which is especially important for remote regions. The helicopter is capable of operating from unprepared sites without developed infrastructure.
The holding noted that over the past years, more than a hundred aircraft have already been transferred as part of cooperation with GTLK. These machines, according to industry representatives, significantly improve the transport accessibility of remote areas and support the socio-economic development of the regions.
Mi-8MTV-1 is a deep modernization of the proven Mi-8 platform. The machine received a reinforced structure, modern flight and navigation equipment and improved performance at high altitudes.
