A preliminary standard that sets requirements for driver monitoring systems using artificial intelligence (AI) technologies will take effect on June 15. The text has been approved by Rosstandart.
The document concerns technological solutions implemented in vehicles. It addresses the requirements for training the neural network, and the configuration of software and hardware systems for collecting and processing video and biometrics.
The preliminary standard introduces criteria for assessing the accuracy of algorithms for predicting the driver's condition behind the wheel. In addition, the agency regulates the security of the driver's personal data.
Rosstandart believes that its application will reduce the number of accidents on the roads. The document will simplify interaction between developers of AI solutions and supervisory authorities.
This practice will help accumulate information about the use of AI in transport. This will contribute to the development of the final version of the national standard, Rosstandart concluded.
