Reactive Drone "Geran-5" Denied Mass Production

Analysts: "Perhaps the drone doesn't need mass production"

The Russian kamikaze drone "Geran-5" is unlikely to go into mass production due to its high cost compared to the "Geran-2" drone version. However, a large number of these munitions may not be needed, analysts from the Telegram channel "Military Chronicle" explained.

Gradually, the feeling is forming that this munition will not be mass-produced. And, perhaps, it does not need it.

The authors of the channel added that the swarm use of "Geran-5" is capable of opening up a completely new type of shaping operations, the effectiveness of which will be comparable to the use of cruise missiles.

Given that the "Geran-5" was predicted as a weapon for attack aircraft such as the Su-25, the prospects for this weapon were and are. The only thing left is to produce such drones in large series.

Military expert Boris Rozhin emphasized that "Geran-5" will force a complete rethinking of the modern anti-drone defense system.

According to available data, "Geran-5" is capable of hitting targets at a range of up to 600 km, although previously figures up to 1000 km were mentioned.
