Press Service of the Northern Fleet

According to the exercise plan, the Northern Fleet headquarters received a distress signal from a submarine. The military personnel organized a search and rescue point.

The first to arrive at the "emergency site" in the Barents Sea was an Il-38 aircraft. Its crew dropped a light-signal buoy. The vessel "Georgy Titov" (05361), the tugboat "Pamir" (project 1452), the base minesweeper "Kolomna" (project 12650), the hydrographic boat "Leonid Senchura" (project 23040G), the diving boat RVK-1229 "Ivan Shvets" (project 23040) and other ships of the Northern Fleet were involved in the rescue operation.

The Ka-27M helicopter used a magnetometer to search for a conditionally sunken submarine. Some of the sailors were rescued by a rotary-wing machine, the rest - with the help of the MPK "Yunga".

In addition, the North Sea sailors practiced providing assistance to an "emergency" vessel that was damaged by a UAV strike. They extinguished a conditional fire in the bow of the ship and towed it to shelter.
