The Sword of Themis Hangs Over the LMS-901 "Baikal" Aircraft: UZGA Owes 7 Billion Rubles in Lawsuits

The Ministry of Defense Demanded Another 722 Million Rubles from the Enterprise

The Ministry of Defense has filed two more lawsuits against the Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA) for the amount of 722 million rubles. The case will be considered by the Arbitration Court of Moscow.

The specific requirements of the military department are not specified, but it concerns improper fulfillment of obligations under contract agreements.

About 85 lawsuits against UZGA are under consideration by the courts, with the total amount of claims amounting to about 7 billion rubles. The largest plaintiff is the Ministry of Defense, which demands 5.5 billion rubles from the enterprise.

UZGA's key project is the light regional aircraft LMS-901 "Baikal", which should replace the outdated An-2. It was planned to be put into operation back in 2024, but the work has not yet been completed. At the same time, the cost of "Baikal" during development increased from 120 to 220–340 million rubles.

Rosaviatsiya did not mention the LMS-901 in its plans for 2026, but the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov, promised to complete work on the aircraft by the end of 2026.
